Blended Learning And Intercultural Dialogue
BLAID is an acronym for Blended Learning And Intercultural Dialogue. This project is supported by the European Union Directorate General Education and Culture and provides a communication platform for teachers, lecturers and students that dedicate their time to lifelong learning.
The project idea arose and was developed by the participating partners at the Grundtvig contactseminar in Romania 21.-26 of February 2007. The overall aim of this learning partnership is to pool a wide variety of resources and experiences within our different organizations to enhance our role of providers of learning for the benefit of our learners. Our main objective is to apply different existing ICT tools for facilitating intercultural dialogue among ourselves and our adult learners. By applying a "learning by doing" method we intend to seduce our learners into interacting with each other and thereby instilling a sense of fun in working on serious lifelong learning skills which they can apply in many different contexts. The new generation of digital tools provide unique opportunities to stimulate social cohesion and break down barriers to social inclusion as they support participation, communication and cooperation in personal networks for increasing quality of life. We will teach the strategic skills that allow our learners to use ICT as a means to improve their quality of life and that connect to the ambitions of the participants. As learning is primarily a social process we intend to work with common socio-cultural themes that appeal to the geographical, cultural and educational diversity of our learners, among which: “Do you feel a European? " .
Below you'll find all the pieces of the puzzle, just click the picture to find out the story behind the face...
Did you ever feel the need for more? Did you ever wonder what's behind the horizon? Did you ever want to learn a foreign language, or feel the need to learn the language of the local community you became a part of?
Maybe you're more attracted by the universal language of mathematics, physics, or (applied) sciences?
Those are all valid reasons to become a BLAID-er! Check out whether or not there's a participating college or university nearby.
